MONMOUTH CO LIBRARY
The Doolittle Raid - World War II Era Studies Institute - 1 P.M.

Presentation on "The Doolittle Raid," 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 6, Monmouth County Library Headquarters, Manalapan, NJ.  Admission free.

In commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of America’s entrance into WW I in April 1917, I invite you to listen to the astonishing story of James Woolsey, a 102 year old veteran of the Great War.  He relates in a vivid way his wartime experiences as a soldier in the battlefield trenches of France.  After the war, he becomes a talented musician and ultimately comes to compose music for the famed Glenn Miller band.  Mr. Woolsey also relates during the interview an engrossing eye witness account of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.  In December 1941, he was visiting a friend at the US Navy base when the attack occurred.  I believe you will find all that he recounts amazing.
